Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct may be revised at any time by MSPeak and the terms are non-negotiable. Your registration for, or attendance at, any MSPeak event indicates your agreement to abide by this policy and its terms.

MSPeak events are an amazing opportunity for community professionals of all stripes and those interested in the community to come together, learn, network, and share. Our events have the goal of expanding professional growth opportunities of all kinds for our attendees. We believe an explicit code of conduct is a great way to help us stay aligned with this goal and with our Community values.

MSPeak Community Values

BE GENEROUS

Community is in our DNA and essential to who we are. We live for the moments where we can step up to help another community member learn and grow in their career without asking for anything in return. We believe when one of us wins, we all win. We share our learnings with radical transparency. We leave no member behind.

BE GROUNDBREAKING

MSPeak is a community for the bold and ambitious. We believe that community is the future of business and that we have an opportunity and responsibility to shape that future. We’re constantly experimenting and innovating. We challenge ourselves to grow and build new systems that future generations of community builders will benefit from.

BE ACTIVELY INCLUSIVE

We believe that building inclusive spaces isn’t just the right thing to do — it also makes our community more valuable. We don’t expect our community to organically become diverse, equitable, and inclusive — we know we need to take an active role. We make sure that everyone in the industry can learn from the lessons we share, not just a select few. We seek out unheard voices and step back to make space for those voices. We work together to check our biases and improve.

We value the participation of each member of our community and want all attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Accordingly, all attendees are expected to show respect and courtesy to other attendees throughout any MSPeak or MSPEAK event.

To make clear what is expected, all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, organizers and volunteers are required to conform to the following guidelines. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event.

Member Guidelines

1.) No Self-Promotion or Solicitation of Business

MSPeak is a community for the bold and ambitious. We believe that community is the future of business and that we have an opportunity and responsibility to shape that future. We’re constantly experimenting and innovating. We challenge ourselves to grow and build new systems that future generations of community builders will benefit from.

2.) Context, Relevance, and Meaningful Discussions

Please don't spam unnecessarily or dominate the conversation off-topic. Remember we are talking with you! Meaningful discussions help all of us grow and learn together!

3.) Give More Than You Take

What makes a community amazing is when members are more focused on helping each other, than on helping themselves. Be as helpful as possible and everyone benefits!

4.) No Hate Speech or Bullying

You should respectfully challenge ideas, but never attack the person. Help us make sure everyone feels safe in the MSPeak community. Bullying of any kind isn’t allowed, and degrading comments will not be tolerated.

MSPeak is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.

All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience including people of many different backgrounds. Sexual and other exclusionary language and imagery is not appropriate for any venue. As we serve a tech-savvy audience, communication includes social media postings by attendees concerning MSPeak events.

Be kind to others. Do not insult or put down other attendees. Behave professionally. Remember that harassment and sexist, racist, or exclusionary jokes are not appropriate for any MSPeak event.

Thank you for helping make this a welcoming, friendly event for all.

5.) One Representative Per Company

This rule stipulates that during any event or meeting, only one individual from a specific company is allowed to attend as a representative. This ensures a broader range of perspectives, prevents dominance by any single company, and promotes a more inclusive environment for all participants.

By adhering to this rule, we aim to foster meaningful discussions, collaborative networking, and a well-rounded exchange of ideas.

Contact Information

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact the MSPeak team at team@MSPeak.co or message Aaron via MSPeak Slack private message.

MSPeak will be happy to help participants experiencing harassment to feel safe. We value your attendance.
